Something going strong
When did hens stop laying white eggs?
Well I know some chickens obviously still lay them.... But in the main the eggs in the supermarket (with the exception of the blue / green / pink eggs you pay a premium for) ...mostly are all brown
Is it to do with feed?
I was so excited when I checked this Box and discovered 6 white and four brown.
Si found another four white ones and replaced them! Just to make me smile
Edit: I googled it... Brown hens do brown eggs. White hens do white eggs. Most bulk supplier choose brown chickens
Apparently the colour is added when the egg passes through the hens oviduct. Am away to look up oviducts now and how hens make eggs and why they don't have chickens in them and why they don't need to have sex to lay an egg
