I'm still at this 

I think the horror of home economics class from secondary school has lived with me and I am determined to overcome this 

For two years I feigned sickness as many periods as I could to avoid the classes 

Double on a Friday morning in first year 

Double after break time on a Thursday for second Year

Boy she hated me

'with hips like yours you will need at least a size 16 pattern and I don't know if we have enough material'

Yeah. That builds confidence 

Due to my absences I fell behind.  I took my skirt home over the weekend, sewed all the darts, the seams and the hems 

She ripped them all out the following Friday because 'you can't get your mother to do everything for you'

She was the same in Cookery too 

Threw my scones on the floor and said hadn't realised we were making doorstops.  Looked at my gingerbread and said 'liver'

Had a similar type of woman as a tutor when I trained to be a teacher.   I think it was an age thing

I'm glad so very very glad I'm not that type of person
