Sgwarnog: In the Field

Tortoiseshell

A fine day brought out some more butterflies, with my first Speckled Wood of the year in the graveyard, and first Small Whites down in the woods. Several Peacock, Comma and Small Tortoiseshell (main image) too, especially at the Butterbur patch.

Later, I headed up to Silsden for their final home game of the season which was also an excuse for them to celebrate the NCEL Premier League title, which had been confirmed in their last away game. In the ten years or so that I’ve been seriously following the Bradford District non-league teams, Silsden have made the most progress, with two promotions. We’ll see how they manage the step up to the Northern Premier League next season.
