The accidental finding

Springtime!

I worked in the office this morning. There has been a Dreadful Smell in thr whole building. People with cameras on rods have inspected the building. Now there are mutterings about Taking a Wall Out. I think I know that it’s one of our walls. The joys of working in an ageing Brutalist building!

When I left at lunchtime, because I was hot-desking, I noticed that it was very much Soring outside!
Caught the bus home, walked through the cemetery with only fleeting sadness at memories of the funeral, got home and stripped off outer layers. Worked till the usual hour, but I was tired and found that concentration frequently eluded me.

As soon as I’d switched off my laptop, I hopped into bed and promptly fell asleep while attempting to read! Steve went out for fish and chips, our monthly treat. I didn’t want any, but got up much later and cooked myself some food. I’m enjoying reading John Suchet’s My Bonnie; it’s not just a story about his second wife’s dementia, but also about their lives together and his career as a newscaster. Oh, and they bought a house in France, which was actually a sweet story because they absolutely could not afford it, but fell in love with the view of the Pyrenees.

Now I’m back in bed: maybe I’ll watch something on the laptop, maybe I’ll read more of the book.
