The accidental finding

The group that wasn’t there

I met a client today in the shopping centre. We got a coffee from the bakery, but were taken aback when an enormous delivery of flour, pallet after pallet, started to be delivered. As I had a consulting room today for a change, I offered the chance to go back to the surgery, but they preferred to stay and watch people / flour.

At 11.00 we headed for the library, where the hoarding support group was NOT happening! We both had a photo of a previous flyer advertising the group as taking place from 11.00-12.30 on Monday 31st March. However, the library staff denied all knowledge. Frustrating, to say the least!

The client decided to join the library anyway, and explore (it only relocated a year ago so not everyone has been there yet: it was closed for a while because of CoVid, then RAAC in the old building, then couldn’t reopen because the new building had flooded ). We found a quiet corner to chat in, too, so there was no waste of time involved.

I went back to the surgery, and noticed that my room was never going to get the sun, so had lunch in the courtyard, which was lovely. Also had to pop out to the station. Every fresh air molecule helps.

Other reasons to be thankful: had a coffee after work with V. I haven’t seen her for ages. I think I poppef into her office and cried briefly about a month ago. She was sad because she wasn’t with her family for Eid. They are in South Africa. It’s tough for so many.

And I’ve booked a cat sitter and a holiday cottage for Easter! Fewer than three weeks to go. My savings account will soon be empty.

My power of thinking seems to be better this week. I know it’s one day at a time, though.
