Making cupcakes

A packed final day started with brunch at the Broken Yoke, then on to Target to buy shoes, toys and other supplies and finally on to Stagecoach Park for some more baseball pitching to Landon and playground fun for Maddy.

While she had a nap I set up all the ingredients to make cupcakes which we made when Maddy woke up. When they had cooled we decorated them with pink buttercream, strawberries, blueberries, marshmallows, M&Ms and sprinkles.

In time honoured fashion the bowl was licked out twice, once with the cake mix and then with the buttercream as well as the beaters. Of course, they had to be tried. We survived.

Three were taken across the back yard to Elizabeth and her boys. That leaves 4 still to be eaten. More pitching and games occupied a good couple of hours. I’ve pitched hundreds of balls to Landon this weekend. The Padres won again. 5-0 making that 4 wins out of 4 at the beginning of the season. That’s this best start to a season since 1984.

The evening was rounded off with a couple of games of Monopoly for kids. Must be at my level as I won one of the games!
