Walk in the wood

Early walk dry and seemed like it was going to be a lovely day, and was until around 3 and I looked out to see rain.
We went for a walk along the river and into a wood that we sometimes walk through. I have had two different people mention the Merlin app this week so yesterday I downloaded it and hubby suggested walk to the woods, take some hot chocolate and sit and listen to the birds. The app was great, I couldn’t see any of them but lots of birdsong and the app identified them all.
Coming back we did spot a wagtail on a rock, and used the app to confirm identification.
Hubby took a clock to be fixed just after lunch and I made a long overdue call to my sister. We chatted for ages and I was so pleased I called.
Hetty and I went for another walk, quick round the village and got really wet.
