Outstanding in the crowd

Well, that was an interesting day with an unexpected ending. The day started with Maddy sharing my usual breakfast of yoghurt, fruit and seeds and crispbreads with marmite and cottage cheese. She loved it.

We dropped Maddy off at daycare then went on to Landon’s school for the monthly Flag Day where there was a performance by one of the year grades, the award of various certificates and the pledge of allegiance to the American flag.

While Chris was working I did a HIIT, went for a coffee and a walking various trails in the San Elijo Hills. Good views today from the Lookout and the Ridgeway Trails north over San Marcos to the hills beyond. A clear atmosphere today, quite a covering of cloud and cool winds.

We were not expecting Landon this weekend as, even though it was Chris’s weekend, it is also the start of Spring Break which is always part of his mum’s time. For some reason or other she reversed the arrangement. We picked up a surprised Landon from school collected Maddy and went to the Draft Republic for food and games.

Draft Republic is a sports bar and eating place with bowling, arcade games and a brewery. A good time was had by the two children.

Back home we played throwing and catching a baseball using a mitt and various other games until Maddy was too tired. When she’s tired she sags like a puppet whose strings have been cut!

After she went to bed we watched the Padres win at baseball while at the same time played games of Garbage, looked at Landon’s school laptop and did some drawing.
