Loveliness at Tyntesfield
I met my friend M at Tyntesfield this morning. Now she has left the Oxfam shop - where she was my closest friend - we have a standing order to meet every four weeks, and we are enjoying seeing the changes in one place as the seasons progress. The gardens are done beautifully here - by an army of volunteers and a small group of paid experts. Above is a sample of some of the lovely things I saw as we wandered around.
In the afternoon I did lots of cooking and cleaning, as son and dil were to arrive late pm. Not really to see me - but to stay here as a group of their friends are coming from far and wide - the furthest from Berlin I think - to gather for a weekend of going to gigs in Bristol. There’s t his club called Motion, down the road, just by the riverside path which I often blip, which is one of the biggest music venues in the southwest. Anyhow it’s closing down (unless there is some rescue plan), so they are all going to that. Music is one of the things that makes Bristol what it is, and if the clubs and venues keep on disappearing (several have, already) it’s just going to become an ugly old place with more and more tower blocks, uncontrolled property development and not much else:-(
