After the vistas, a close up
The sunny weather of the last week disappeared in a layer of thick cloud and slight drizzle all day. You’ve had marvellous views now it’s time to get down to some flowers.
The drizzle in the air gave each leaf and flower a sprinkling of bright jewels on the flowers I spotted while out on a walk this afternoon. A type of begonia I think.
While Chris was working I used his car to go to the Apple Store in Carlsbad to see if they could help with an issue with all my music being greyed out on the iPhone. I have a resolution and I also had a resolution to an Apple CarPlay problem too. Result.
A slow coffee while I dealt with stuff from home and a visit to Sprouts for nuts rounded off the morning.
After lunch a good walk up to Double Peak, part of the San Elijo Hills, which towers over San Marcos. Well, towers, it’s 440m above sea level. San Marcos lies between hilly areas north and south with the ocean to the west. To the east the valley narrows into further hills, one of which we were on on Sunday.
Sitting on Chris’s balcony on an evening there is a necklace of lights from houses high up on these peaks. A tremendous view as I’ve tried to show in the extra as I walked up through the houses to Double Peak. High up and with a view they might be but… how secure is the location in such an unstable geological and fire risk area I wouldn’t like to guess.
We pick up Maddy from Daycare tomorrow then go and watch Landon in a baseball game in the evening.
