Drumming

The day started a little misty and overcast but by lunchtime the sun had broken through and we had sunshine and blue sky. The spring weather made the day feel lighter and brighter and more uplifting than of late. As we walk in the field each day we now hear the greater spotted woodpeckers drumming on tree trunks as they communicate with each other.

I popped to the garden centre this morning to get some compost for the raised beds in the garden. I also got some food from the farm shop to form part of a gift I’m creating. Later we went to Havant so I could drop off some items at a charity shop whilst Andy went food shopping. I’ve also been trying to work out what plants to get to fill the space left by an old lavender hedge I removed from the front garden last autumn. So it’s been a day of trivial things but those which we wanted to get done or progress.
