Waiting

Andy played golf today. It was sunny and warm outside so Merlin and I had a short walk in the village. We met a dog walking acquaintance whose elderly dog died last November. We chatted and she made a fuss of Merlin, giving him a treat before going on her way. Later in the morning Merlin had a longer walk with Hannah. When he returned he enjoyed sitting in the sunny garden and then at the top of the stairs, his main concern being Andy’s home coming.

Meanwhile I had baked a couple of loaves of bread and later had a walk in the meadow. The cold wind from yesterday had gone and it felt calm and peaceful. It’s reassuring and uplifting to see that each day more white blossom of the blackthorn comes into flower in the hedgerows.
