Train trip day 7 - Storks at Parc de l'Orangerie

Back blip - Catching up.

An unexpected joy in Strasbourg.

We went for a walk to Parc de l'Orangerie as I had read that they had White storks.  It was quite a long walk from our hotel but we got to see lots of different bits of Strasbourg on the way.  

When we got to the park, we saw a few storks but very soon realised they had nests in many of the trees. 

We stood for quite a while watching them and enjoying the noise they made, clacking their beaks and throwing their heads back.  We had no idea how many storks would be in the park. 

After a while we started the walk back and planned to go via a few other sights on the way.  We headed out the park to be greeted with a street that was lined with stork nests on every tree. Having looked it up after I think this would have been boulevard du Président Edwards.  See extra for a photo.

We did a lot of walking this day, I am sure we did over 10 miles in the end.
