Train trip day 6 - St. Moritz to Strasbourg

We were on the 08:07 out of St. Moritz and heading to Chur.   From Chur the plan was Basel and then Strasbourg.  Things did not quite go to plan as one of our trains was cancelled.  

Being on an Interrail ticket, we were able to pick up different trains and just update out tickets as we went along.  It sounds easy but was a bit fiddly at the time, trying to work out alternate routes and if our train had actually even been cancelled and then updating the Interrail app with a new train so we can activate the ticket. 

We manged to go from Basel to Mulhouse Ville and then get another train to Strasbourg.  A bit of planning was needed on the change at Mulhouse Ville as we only had 3 minutes to change trains.  We got ourselves into position at the door in advance (much to the annoyance of the other passengers as we had luggage to move around).  We also checked which platform the next train went from and were happy to find it was opposite the one we came in on, so managed to catch the train with at least 1 minute to spare!

After all that, we arrived about 30 minutes later than expected, so not bad at all.

After settling into our hotel, we had a wander around and realised that Strasbourg was much warmer than everywhere else we had been.

My blip is of the lakes, the train runs along several lakes and it is lovely to sit back and enjoy the view.
