Now, as I see it......

A host of....

We had a wonderful evening last night at the Waterside Inn.  The food was superb; someone on here asked about the menu so I've added a copy of it as an extra.  We went for the tasting menu and in addition to the courses listed we were given a couple of 'amuse bouche' and a palate cleanser sorbet at different times.  Although the food was lovely it is the attention to detail that gets a place like that three Michelin stars, which it has now kept for 40 years.  Little things like when we asked for a copy of the menu they didn't just give us a standard copy but printed two different ones to reflect what we'd had, as W didn't want one course so they had replaced it with one from the vegetarian tasting menu.  When we left the table at the end of the meal we walked through to Reception and someone was there waiting with our keys.  We were staying in a suite which was in a separate building from the restaurant so while we were at dinner they had moved my car so it was parked right outside our suite.  The room had been serviced while we were out, not just rearranged but clean towels, bed turned down, table set for breakfast (which was served in the room) and a small box of chocolates left on the bed.  Oh, and from when we checked in until we left we never had to say who we were or which room we were in; everyone knew and greeted us by name.  It cost a fortune, but it was impressive.

On the way home we stopped at Anglesey Abbey near Cambridge as I had read that the daffodils were in full bloom at the moment.  As you can see from my main shot, they were, and were looking good.  I've also added an extra of the silver birch trees in one of the gardens; they have grown a lot since we first saw them but are still an impressive sight.
