Getting the Max...Out of the Bombax

People in these parts await the red flowers of the Bombax tree, also known as the Red Cotton Tree. It is a striking tree, attracting both people and bees.

We visit two of the trees, one on the grounds of the Ringling Museum, and two on the grounds at a local botanical garden. Back in my heyday of building sand castles, I loved to pick them up off the ground to add some color to the castles.

We did a little thrifting today, and made another visit to the hospital to see s-i-l Joy. 

Friends Steve and Cindy brought over a shepherd's pie for supper. It was delicious.
