Third strike

I was fortunate to be flying to California yesterday rather than today when Heathrow was closed by that sub-station fire. The plane I flew on was due to return to London overnight but remained at San Diego. Hopefully all will be back to normal for 31st March.

A smooth, uneventful trip from hotel in London to San Diego where Chris was waiting with the family. With only carry on bags I was through immigration before many people were off the plane.

A lovely welcome from Landon and Maddy. Big smiles all round. We were soon out in the backyard playing basketball and pickleball. This was gone 1.00am UK time.

I slept well considering and was up for 7.00am to look after Maddy while Chris had an early morning work call. Then it was school for Landon and daycare for Maddy. I won’t see her now until next Wednesday. The extra is her in the car this morning.

I did a restorative Joe Wicks, had breakfast, walked to Urban Sweet for a coffee and on to Ralph’s for some shopping.

This afternoon Chris and I walked Enzo, the whippet he’s dog sitting down to Discovery Lake then went on to watch Landon and his team play baseball. It’s ongoing as I write. Today’s blip is of Landon at bat. In this innings he struck out but in the second he had a hit, got to second base and was batted in to score a run. At the bottom of the 5th score is 4-3 to his team the Detroit Tigers. (All the teams are named after Major League teams)

Edit: final score 4-4
