Heathrow T5 ant hill

A very early blip today as the flight departs at 12.50. I’m at the gate ready for boarding. It’s of a well known organic coffee shop on the departures floor. Looked interesting and I managed to avoid the chain’s name.

All worked smoothly. Left the hotel at T 4 at 9.00am, took the free transit to T5 and was through security and completed the required duty free shopping by 10.00am.

The hotel breakfast was…. Okish…. included in the free night so can’t complain… bacon was the best and I wasn’t too sure about that. Decaf coffee was sachets.

My eccentricity encouraged me to walk between the main terminal to B gates. I’ve managed 5000 steps around the airport complex today. Saw not a soul on the walkways! Vast long tunnels with nobody around. Rejoined the crowd as the escalators from the transit.

It’s a very fine day here in west London. Unfortunately, I do not have a window seat to observe the land, sea and skyscapes during the flight. I booked a bulkhead seat with plenty of room for my long stick insect legs. If you track these sorts of things it BA273.
