Tiddly-om-pom-pom...
I was up showered and dressed early this morning in preparation for my surgery follow up phone call with my GP.
Dr P has been supporting me and trying her best to manage the symptoms caused by my fibroid for over three years and she was very happy when the gynae consultant finally put me on the list for my radial hysterectomy. I've been looking forward to our conversation post-op to let her know what a success it has been.
As I thought, she was very happy to hear how well it's all gone and how much better I feel and is also glad that it's all behind me.
Not long after chatting to her I went to the wound clinic to have the dressing changed on the tiny bit of my wound that's still a little inflamed. The nurse is very happy with progress and said it's looking much better. Back again on Friday for another check and new dressing if needed.
Since we were out and about and had to pick up bread and milk, we stopped off and had breakfast at Cafe Kisa, a nice little unexpected surprise. It's always busy, even on a Monday morning, so we were lucky to get a table. If we'd been five minutes later we'd have been out of luck! French toast with crispy bacon and maple syrup for me, toast with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for D. Great timing as it did away with the need to make lunch.
A friend contacted me yesterday with a painting commission. There's absolutely no rush but I spent a little while in the studio getting things organised for it. Will probably get it started next week.
While D nipped over to the golf course to play nine holes, I finished crocheting Jen's throw by adding a border and making the four pom poms and getting them attached. I think that's the fastest blanket / throw I've made. I can definitely recommend super chunky yarn and a size 15 hook!
Homemade beef chilli for dinner and a tidy up of crochet corner. D says I am like one of those hoarders you see on tv who are surrounded by piles an piles of newspapers only in my case it's organza bags full of yarn! LOL!
Happy St Patrick's Day to all the Irish blippers and those with Irish connections x
