Running the Rome marathon

Our niece Beth ran the Rome marathon with her boyfriend Jonah this morning. They have never before attempted a race of this distance and trained hard for it. Jonah reached the finish line in 4 hours 48 minutes, and Beth in 5 hours 38 minutes - not bad for first-timers. Beth sent me this 'before' photo for my blip today. I am so proud of her.

In other news Newcastle United wins the Carabao (or League) Cup 2-1 against Liverpool! How amazing: the team's first domestic trophy in my lifetime. I am very excited to see how this plays out in the Toon next week.

As for me: lots of chasing my tail and preparing for the arrival of two book group blip friends for an overnight stay tomorrow. I do hope that I will manage to find some time for writing tomorrow.

Exercise today: 6 mile run (14,790 steps, mainly the run).
