Wirral Country Park
Saturday 8 March
It was another gorgeous day, and Bernard felt up to another outing, so we went to the Wirral Country Park for the afternoon, affording great views over the Dee estuary, though we always seem to be here at low tide! One of the features of the park is the 12 mile long Wirral Way, a paved walking/cycling trail, which is ideal for Bernard’s mobility scooter. There were some lovely scenes, with lots of gorse bushes and occasional banks of daffodils. We have been several times, but this was a new place for Jen to visit. It was a popular place to be this sunny Spring Saturday, with lots of people walking, cycling, having picnics, flying kites etc. we treated ourselves to an ice cream before driving home.
Janet and John returned home quite late from their few days away in Knaresborough, having spent the day with nephew Matt and his wife Claire. They were supposed to have visited us last weekend, but unfortunately they were both ill, as was their dog!
