At the end of the day, the product team got together to discuss what’s upcoming. Generally, everybody seemed in agreement about the items that could be worked on for the next phase.
As the end of the meeting approached, I couldn’t help but start clock-watching. I knew the journey to Waterloo was about 35 minutes if all was OK with the trains. I wanted to arrive around 6pm. The meeting finished without the need to rush, although I did spend ten minutes chatting with A when I really should have been leaving.
When I got to the platform, there was a train at White City Station, so I boarded and headed into town. PY had arrived at Waterloo and messaged asking if I wanted anything for the journey. I was so distracted thinking about a sandwich that I got off the Central Line at Marble Arch and had to wait for the next train to take the one-stop trip to Bond Street, where I changed for an uncharacteristically un-crushed Jubilee Line train to Waterloo. We got a coffee, and as I tried to look up which platform we’d depart from, it appeared on the board, and we made our way to the front.
At Portsmouth Harbour, the boat wasn’t yet in, but quite a crowd had gathered. When it arrived, we saw it wasn’t one of the WightRiders but a smaller boat. Everybody got on, but it was much more crowded. I know this boat has been used before, and although it is a bit slower, it has the advantage of having a bar. We didn’t use it on this journey.
We went to the flat via Sainsbury’s, where we bought microwave meals for convenience, not health reasons. As we approached Ryde Castle, I tried to take a picture of the esplanade, but it ended up being quite blurry. I think it worked, though.
