DFL

Somehow, it's easier to get up when on the Island. I had the raspberries and yoghurt we bought yesterday and then headed to the room I use as the office to start the week.

The solicitors require a series of identity checks to move forward with the lease extension on the flat. As we are in Ryde, we decided to visit their offices. They’ve requested quite a collection of documents, including our passports and driving licences. It was harder to find paperwork with our address on it, as most of the utilities are online, and many don’t seem to be able to generate a bill that could be printed. Worse, of course, many have a different correspondence address. That’s one of the issues we have encountered, being DFL (Down from London). The tea mug was very apt today.

After we returned, I stayed in the flat for the rest of the day. I feel a bit under the weather, and my cough is not improving. The carpenter didn’t make contact to remove the box housing the electricity meter, so that will have to be done another time. It was a bit frustrating, as it would have been nice to get that completed. PY went to the Co-op and bought Hunter’s Chicken for dinner, which was nice.

We spent most of the evening watching television series. The concluding episode of the new Bergerac was good. I didn’t see it all coming together until the end, which I think is the mark of a good detective series.
