A chance encounter…
Just as well I had my toggles fixed today - that wind was very very cold! I needed a working duffle coat.
I tried to ring the doctor at 8am, just to ask for a telephone appointment, and got a long recorded message saying how very very busy they are, overwhelmed at times, actually. In fact, basically - could I think twice about ringing... Anyway, they were 'full up for today.'
No worries, I'd just pop up and ask about my pills - More? Stop them? Try new pills? I needed to know as I'm running out. The doctor who prescribed them initially said she'd be in touch in two months to decide what to do.
So, after my chair exercises, Archie and I walked up to the surgery and I asked if someone could just let me know... (The waiting room was empty...)
We then went for a brisk walk... but I didn't get far - my legs weren't feeling as spry as they were yesterday, so I went home. A voice mail from the surgery chemist, but it was cut off. So I went there, knowing someone was on to it.
Oh no! It was their 'Training time' between 1 and 2pm. No worries, we popped over to the graveyard. I haven't been there for a while. Archie loves it there. He's off the lead, but I follow him like a hawk. Suddenly, he lifted his head, sniffed the air, and ran off, frantically searching everywhere. I thought it must be a fox. But no, from the other side of the graveyard came Pip and his parents! Archie had sensed them from really far away. That was very exciting, so we all strolled round together.
From there I met up with the surgery chemist. (The waiting room was still empty). She is going to contact the doctor at the clinic to find out the next steps... We then walked the long way round home - my legs were feeling a bit stronger than earlier.
JR, after her two gym sessions, had been to the supermarket and made soup for tea.
Archie and I dozed on the sofa for the rest of the afternoon.
