Not a cloud
Good lord, it was a beautiful day today!
I was pleased that Ms Simmo had allowed me a 15-minute lie-in this morning before collecting her and then heading off to Ambleside.
She’d suggested that we do Loughrigg on this fine morning and it proved to be a good shout, as the views were stunning! This is looking down into Grasmere where the water on the lake looked like glass.
We chatted pretty much all the way round and looked on in disbelief as one walker - who looked dressed for the beach - made her way up the steep rocky path. It’s no wonder mountain rescue get called out so much!
Making our way back into Ambleside, it is the law when visiting to stop by The Apple Pie bakery and pick up a piece of Bath bun to have with an afternoon brew.
Having dropped an increasingly dozy Ms Simmo home, I headed back to mine and pottered about with some chores, including tidying up the front of the house and sorting out some fire wood for later this week when the temperature drops back a bit.
Once completed, I felt like I had earned the right to sit down with a brew and aforementioned bun to take in an afternoon of rugby and football.
Lovely weekend and hope you had a good one too!
