Crew
Our hard working crew having a moment in the limelight after completion of the building and dressing of the set. From now on, they will melt back into the shadows and the wings, working away behind the scenes to ensure we actors look and sound as good as possible.
Now we know the space we’re going to be working with, it’s just a question of making sure we can still do all the moves we’ve been rehearsing for the past few weeks.
We’ve done two runs this afternoon and evening, the first one at speed, concentrating on the blocking. We also had our mics issued and sound tested.
After a break for tea (good old Maccy D’s!) we had a proper run, albeit without lighting or sound effects. It went pretty well - a few fluffed lines but not one person in particular, we were all guilty of moments of blankness! And we got the blocking just about right, probably thanks to the earlier run through.
All bodes well now for the rest of the week. Tech rehearsals tomorrow and Tuesday with dress rehearsal scheduled for Wednesday. Hopefully we will know what we’re doing by then and can have a night off on Thursday before opening night on Friday.
I’ll try and have a relaxing day tomorrow - maybe just run through the lines once or twice before heading off to the theatre in the evening.
