The hellebores are revealed

I've been doingg a bit of clearing in the garden. This time it has been the front garden, and the beneficiaries are the hellebores. They'd been rather overcome by the extraneous growth from other plants and I only saw too late that their leaves were very ragged and the flowers found it hard to  merge and fully bloom.

I came back today to see if the flowers had managed lift their heads and I think some them have. Hopefully the insects will enjoy them too. I certainly do and think they are amazing plants to produce such intricate and pretty flowers in the depths of winter. There have been hard frosts in the last two weeks, although the temperature now has risen to approximate springtime.
