Crocus flowers peeking thorugh the vincas

I finally managed to do some garden clearance yesterday, trashing extraneous growth of the wisteria, brambles and both the bay and olive trees. I was a bit ruthless but I wanted the plants to regrow with plenty of energy.

One area I didn't manage to reach was a former bed which has now been overrun with vinca major, or greater periwinkle, which I introduced some years ago without realising how invasive it is, and hard to remove. But I was delighted to find that a few crocus flowers still managed to survive, reproduce and produce these lovely colours and shapes in amongst the weeds. You can probably spot the nettle leaves which aren't that welcome either.
