Action packed
Slept really well on the ferry waking when the arrival announcement hit the cabin. We got off at 6.30am, picked up by the location manager that Northern Ireland Screen had allocated for us and set off to look at various locations and story places. We spent a lot of time in the docks and this is a pic of Nick our writer looking out at an old ferry in port. We then went off to look at two prisons including Belfast’s notorious Crumlin Road jail that is now a visitor attraction and is regularly used for filming. I found it a grim and depressing place with its monumental stone walls. Turned out that our driver had been in there as a young man so that gave us a bit to talk about on the way to lunch. Good pizzas at Orto and then we went to the Lagan weir and walked through the tunnel under the Lagan. After that we went to Studio Ulster which is a big new virtual production studio that we were shown around. We signed NDAs so I can’t share any pictures of it but it was incredibly impressive.
Met with a potential line producer.
Dinner locally at James St and which was fun. Good to be back in Belfast.
