Up on the roof

Fascinating day on the ferry.  Unlike the night ferry the day captain was very chatty and very keen to show us everything.  He spent the morning sitting and talking to us over coffee before taking over his shift and midday and then having us up on the bridge.   We also went on the helicopter deck which was quite breezy.  Lots and lots to see. 

My favourite moment was when we were up on the bridge and I was feeling a bit queasy, Captain Jan instructed his deputy to put the stabilisers on which did make a noticeable difference.  

We came into the Mersey at around 6 and docked at 6.30.  Nick dropped JC and I off at Lime St and I caught the train to Leeds. 

I was met by Amit and driven to a small hotel the Calverly Arms for a day’s work on another project tomorrow.
