It's a Bean Blip
We had another long walk this afternoon in the sunshine. It was a pleasant 19C. Bean stopped for a drink from the water trough by the rugby rooms, which is becoming a ritual every time we pass. Then she posed nicely for her Blip-followers.
The day started at 3C in a nasty reminder that we are in autumn. And it was close enough to a frost for me to check and double check the squashes, courgettes and beans as the sun came up. All survived unscathed.
It is Food Bank day tomorrow, so after my various jobs I went round the garden and picked surpluses. Cabbage, beetroot, cucumbers, courgettes, beans, and sweetcorn.
Oh my goodness, the sweetcorn! I have grown the best ever cobs: plentiful, huge, plump, and bright beautiful yellow corn. I decided to taste-test one immediately and they not only look stunning but taste out of this world.
This morning I did a few hours' weeding in G's garden. The extra shows the pathway up to their house: the cream-coloured conical hydrangeas are stunning this year. We cut them down hard in winter and neither of us were sure they'd flourish immediately after such a vicious prune. They have!
