A slice of Lesley's life

In and Out of Sync

One of those days - somethings worked and somethings didn't. Trying to time the kids jumping in to the pool was clearly one of the latter. Along with failing to buy a new fridge - all too big or too small. And a ridiculous conversation with a charming man at the NHS referrals department as I called to chase an appointment. In brief we should expect a letter within a fortnight that confirms we will receive a letter within a fortnight after that letter with an appointment. Whilst dealing with bureaucrats I thought I'd bite the bullet and check if my lost phone is covered under our bank's insurance but sadly not as I hadn't informed them of my handset upgrade. Still holding out a tiny bit of hope for the household insurance but couldn't face another call and it was heading to lunchtime.

Worked through siesta and the fiercest heat of a very hot day to reward myself with a couple of hours of fun in the pool with the kids. Who lobbied hard for Chinese takeaway and a film night. Sounds simple enough and pretty much worked out in the end. After the 30mins of driving around looking for a parking space (not to self, park near Oriental Bazar when car park is closed) and not quite ordering the right food and slightly going beyond the time the boy needed to eat. They day was so hot we didn't start the afternoon pool session until around 5pm and it was nearly nine by the time we were eating. The boy does well at adjusting to a later eating time but he's not Spanish! Recovered with the mildly amusing and perfectly watchable Emperor's New Groove and a big curl up on the sofa. Oh and a bowl of chocolate ice cream which probably helped the most.

Finally all in bed. And relax,
Lesley
