Desert dust makes some
glorious sunrises, but the
colour doesn't last

My grocery store mailed me a package of coupons for all the items I usually buy, so today I took them with me. I headed out the door just after 6 in the dark.
By the time I'd collected all my loot, sunrise was imminent. I walked out to the parking lot as that lovely glow was appearing in the east.
I did a bit of a parking lot survey today. The big motorhome has British Columbia plates. The all too familiar truck and pup has veteran plates from Maine. It must feel safe with all the lights around and it should be quiet behind the big store.
We had a windy day yesterday. It kicked up the sand as it gusted. I would look out my window to see the mountains had disappeared from view, then they'd emerge again for a time. So, today that dust is giving us that incredible glow as the sun comes up.
I stopped twice on the way home and aimed my camera out my driver's window. These are the mornings I will remember. Sunrise over the Gila Mountains will remain with me.
I'm home with my sewing machine today. I'm also beginning to sort and pack up. Departure day is sneaking up on me.
