A Good Morning!

I wish I could say that this Selma bun in my extra with more cream than usual for pancake day was blipped in situ in Söderberg and stayed right there , but I can’t lie and so I’m afraid to say it came home with me and is now after lunch only half of its former glory. Naughty, but delicious!

It still feels strange to be walking down to Princes Street in the light before 7am. I have lost the  anonymity I had under cover of darkness but it’s lovely to hear loud birdsong in Middle Meadow Walk and see more people out and about. By the time I reach the High Street, St Giles Cathedral and the Tron Kirk are chiming 7 o’clock. For most of the winter it has been the heavier bells of St Giles but at the moment the Tron has taken over.

It was a chilly wind again this morning making it feel like -1°. There were only 3 BlueTits in the water  at 8am and we were only in for less than 9 minutes. The sea was calm and there were no waves to catch us unawares. Two handstands were executed with the resulting  ‘ice cream head’, the #26 bus was prompt and any hold up for road works, tolerable.  I managed the Metro Sudoku and the less challenging crossword. It’s been a good morning I would say.
