Spring in the Air

After a cloudy start the day slowly brightened to sunshine this afternoon.  Walking Meg not long before sunset the view up the valley was just beautiful.   We walked the circuit from Rhydyronen to Cynfal across the fields and then back via the lanes.  An extra pic of the view the other way from the bridge after the works train had passed.   Another extra of a silly dog following a scent almost too far.  Meg often sniffs where badgers and other creatures have made little gaps in the hedge.  Today she went further.  She went in.  Right in!   After a little mooch round between hedge and wire fence just beyond, she found that coming out head first was harder than going in.  I had to help by pulling some of the growth up a bit before she eventually popped out.

Earlier I had pancake lunch at Jamie's before dropping him at the ensemble rehearsals that kept him busy all afternoon on violin and saxophone.   While he was doing that I spent a couple of hours cleaning up in the greenhouse.  The job's not finished but it's looking a lot better.  Because I grow alpines and bulbs rather than veg in my greenhouse, it is never empty of plants but clutter, including failed plants, does build up.  A good start today, enough space now for the new plants I bought at the show to be potted on and found a permanent space.
