So early(ish) we headed 200 miles down to the "North" of England, near Manchester. I say "North" cos as far as I am concerned, it's in the middle of England. Anyway a stop-off in Moffat for a bacon and egg roll and a stretch of Arlo's legs and then the big part down the M6. At that point we realised Arlo has not been to England before, I hope they understand his accent! The first purpose of the trip was for a test drive, here is Mrs C expressing her road rage around the streets of Bury.
After an hour's confab, as planned and a so-so walk for Arlo, we headed off for our abode for the evening which I arranged as we were (she was) driving, and eventually settled on a hotel in Downham, in the Ribble Valley. It's dark but I think the village is nice. Our meal in the Assheton Arms was just fab, the room was fab, the blonde ales were fab, good choice I made I say.
I don't recall visiting this part of the world before so we are looking forward to exploring in the daylight tomorrow.
