Dolly's Day

Joe Tree Day

I woke up around 6am and before going back to sleep I checked my phone and found a message saying my train to Northallerton was cancelled.  It had been due to leave at 10.01am.  I checked the timetable and the next two trains were cancelled and later trains weren't direct and had one or two changes including replacement bus services.  Only train I could get was the 9.01am  So I quickly went online and reserved a seat on the 9.01am.

So then I had to get up and quickly get ready, sort the cats out etc. I got a bus to Newcastle and arrived at the station with about 15 mins to spare.  Station annoucement said seat reservations weren't operating on my train.. It was 9 carriages instead of 10. So when I got on the train it  was full to bursting and I didn't get a seat.  Had to stand near the the door for 1hr 15 mins.

Mike was at the station to pick me up.  Back to Becky and Mike's house. Becky was relaxing as she had just done the local Parkrun. We had a catch up and I played with Astrid.  Later we went to Wetherspoons for lunch.  Looked round the shops in the High Street and I was pleased to discover a  Ray Lonsdale statue. See Extra.

Watched the Man City v Plymouth match on TV.  Mike cooked Creamy Tuscan Salmon for our evening meal. See Extra.  Also in the collage is Chester the cat. After Astrid had gone to bed we played a board game...... Race Across The World.  It was fun.  I was last.

The tree in my blip is near to Becky and Mike's house.  Thanks to Joe Tree for starting Blipfoto and to everyone who keeps the site  going. It's a wonderful community to be part of.

No chance to do any comments while I'm away. Will catch up when I get home on Monday.
