Splashing happily

Madeiran chaffinches are bold and cheeky and are very much in evidence in Madeira’s Palheiro Gardens. This one was playing in the stream.

Our chaffinches are shy and our robins are friendly. It’s the opposite in Madeira.

This is my favourite garden but I’m feeling my age. I walked to the bus (nothing much a few years ago) but I was glad to sit and wait for it. I walked around the gardens, happily watching the birds (and people watching of course). The tea room is super and everyone is friendly.

I found the walk back to the bus stop really tiring. Getting old is a b***er - but the alternative is worse.
