The consensus this morning was that we both still felt tired but not sick. Given that fact, we decided to go to the nearby soccer field with Spike and his red ball (it makes a noise when it lands). Ordinarily we would walk, but we played it safe, got in the car and drove a few blocks. The path past the school and up to the field was enough. The field hasn't been mowed for awhile and the fine drizzle was caught prettily in a spider web in the clover. There was also a dandelion which I was going to put with it in a collage, but I couldn't find a collage maker that made any sense to me, so the dandelion is an extra.

We met a woman with her newly adopted border collie, Katie, who was far more interested in Spike's ball than her own. We tried keeping them occupied at opposite ends of the field, but once Katie got wind of Spike's ball she would lose interest in her own, smaller than Spike's and often buried in the grass, and would suddenly swoop in and grab Spike's. She was so quick that Spike just carried on looking for it.

We were pleased to find a field where Spike could run, and happy to get outside for the first time in ten days. Even the chilly drizzle was restorative. We stayed well away from the nice lady.

Thinking about Nana K, how much she wanted to share her final days with this community, and how much she. will be missed, I couldn't help think yet again, how Blipfoto really is like a big family. We mourn our losses, share our joys, and commiserate with one another just as any close knit family would. I can't think of anything else like it. It is more than special...it is a a blessing.
