Life's Little Moments

Freedom!

What an absolute joy to be able to witness this Bald Eagle being returned to the wild this afternoon after being treated for lead poisoning by an avian rescue organization.  I was going to post a close up of his head, but decided that this shot was more dynamic and interesting. Plus it shows the enormous size of the bird, and especially of the talons in relation to Giselle's hand.  Two more in Extra.

Sadly, the second adult bald eagle she took at about the same time as this one didn't have such a happy ending.  He turned out to have the avian flu which has no cure right now.

A very good day, as I also had a nice long FT chat with my parents this morning, always a good way to start the day.

Temps warmed up into the mid 40's today which felt positively balmy.  And it looks like we will get into the mid 50's a couple of days this week.  The icy patches in our yard are starting to melt and Jax is much happier to spend a little more time sniffing around the yard now.  And the daffodils next to the house have bravely poked about 4 inches above the surface in a their mad race to spring.

All is good.
