Life's Little Moments

I was out in the hide as the light changed this afternoon, watching the play of low sunlight and shadows move across the garden.  Challenging at times because the woods behind my subjects was lit up making exposure on birds tricky.  At the exact moment this little Black-capped Chickadee landed in front of me, the light shifted again and it was nearly perfect.  I lifted the shadows just a bit in LR and tweaked the highlights but otherwise I like the way the light worked with this.

We tried to take Jax for a walk in his favorite snifari field but it still had way too much ice on it and the footing was precarious for humans as well as dog.  So we made it a short visit before we headed back home.  In spite of the conditions, he enjoyed the new smells and found it necessary to mark just about every bit of vegetation we passed...

Tomorrow I am planning to blip an Eagle.  Now, why would I be so certain about this?  I have been asked to photograph the release of a mature Bald Eagle who has just completed treatment for lead poisoning.  The woman who owns the rehab facility is a friend of mine so I am always happy to support her in any way I can.

And did I mention that I've locked in an appointment with a well-respected tattoo artist near me for March 12?  So I'm thinking I will blip a tattoo on that day...
