Shifted the compost bin

From this angle that side of the backyard looks as if we have a clearing in the middle of a forest (or in Kiwi parlance , in the bush). The reality is that our backyard is relatively small. The front of the property is dominated by the huge old Kauri tree; judging by it's size it would be more than 200 years old. The young tree adjacent to the compost bin is much younger. It would be called a ricker, and 185 years ago when Te Tiriti o Waitangi ((Treaty of Waitangi) was signed would have been much prized by the English Navy as a mast.

The edge of our backyard is delineated by Ponga logs which I have put on top of a line of bricks laid by the previous owner. I've moved the compost bin to give a longer strip of land where we are able to sit in the shade much of the day. On the right can be seen more Ponga logs which I intend to use to continue the boundary marking to the rear of the property.
