Walking home on a rainy night
Quite a busy day. The carpenter came and replaced the rotten wood that my French windows were attached to ie uprights that are screwed into the housebricks. The existing ones were rotten - it’s great to have it done. So that was an indoor and outdoor job. Portia had to be shut away in a bedroom with food and a litter tray - she coped very well - in fact she slept through most of it.
I went to my GP - improvement is happening- but I do need to have another blood test asap.
In the evening I went to the cinema, saw Memoir of a Snail. A stop motion animation, like Wallace and Gromit in technique and style to some extent. But this is terribly sad, a really beautiful film about aging, loss, being a twin, and so much more. I really recommend it provided you can cope with a sad story, with some very funny bits and some hopeful bits.
It was rainy and cold when it ended so I got the bus home. This is the nearest cafe to my house. I particularly noticed the brightness after seeing a film that was mostly in brown and grey. I was sorry to see they only had two diners, but overall I think they do ok. And they may very well have sold pizzas via home delivery on a rainy night. Pity the poor deliverer:(
