Ice

We finished the job today around 1:30. Two of us working, it took us 8.5 man hours and we had a budget of 16 hours. So I was able to add a couple of extra hours for each of us.
The temperature got up to +1 C this afternoon, so after work I went for a drive around the Cow Bay loop. I stopped near Rainbow Haven Beach for a couple of photos. This is a view of the Salt Marsh Trail. I walk here sometimes when the weather is good. When I drove past the parking lots for the trail, they were both a sheet of ice. The parking lots for all of the trails in the area were sheets of ice, the city has not put any sand or gravel on any of the trail parking lots.

I am off tomorrow. I do plan to go for lunch with a social group. I hope to go for a walk around Sullivan's Pond. The sidewalk around it is plowed and salted.

Temperatures around freezing again tomorrow afternoon. I put some salt down on the driveway this afternoon, hoping it will soften up the ice so I can work away at removing it. I broke up some of the ice on the deck. There were 2 layers, one from each storm. The top layer broke up fairly easily. The bottom layer was still frozen solid. I am hoping the sun will soften more of it up tomorrow.
