Birthday Treat

Spent time in the morning enjoying a walk in the Botanic Gardens here in Fort Worth and in the evening we had a sumptuous meal at The Chumley House, a new restaurant that describes itself as European.  However when we arrived and looked at the menu, the British influence was very apparent.  I had Beef Wellington with a peppercorn sauce and L had a Butter Chicken pie.  This photo was of a delicious prawn cocktail.  L said she wanted to try it as a nostalgic throw back to when that was a regular starter in the UK.  However, this was far superior, with a Kashmiri spiced cocktail sauce and prawn crackers to go with it.  The service was exemplary, and because I mentioned some of the items on the menu that I liked, but ordered something different, they proceeded to ply us with extra dishes for no charge - which did not help with the discomfort that proceeded for quite a while afterwards, and we still have leftovers.
