Taters on the Moor

I had a plan to visit Ash Gill Force and sorted out a walking route from Garrigill. As usual it was barely above freezing and sub zero in the windchill coming off Alston Moor. 
We haven't had much rain so far this year and it was evident with the lack of water over the Force. 
Nevertheless it was a fine walk,  we tracked along the River South Tyne and then headed up the gill to the Falls. Along the way we tried to  creep up on some Red Legged Partridges (extra) with partial success.
The walk was punctuated by icicles along the river and at the falls, a close up of the icicles was my favourite shot of the day but I've added a couple of other shots in extras.
