Cold water

Lots of drinking of cold water since Saturday morning in London when I met my oldest and dearest friend (who has lived in London for thirty years) for breakfast in a busy cafe off Enfield Road. I ordered porridge with apple and cinnamon and took a large spoonful only to realise that it was super-heated and akin to molten lava. Instead of spitting it out - because I was in a busy cafe - I stupidly swallowed it and have burned my insides all the way down to my stomach. Very sore and unpleasant. So annoyed with myself and hoping I haven't done any permanent damage.
