Pop up
Didn't sleep too well, which is odd as the last times I've slept on sofa it's been fine. Think I may have been dehydrated.
With the late night last night it was a slow start. I was up at 6.30 doing Bali things but Olivia didn't emerge till after 9 and Amelia even later. It looked hot outside. After breakfast (scrambled egg on toast) they tidied up, I washed last night's dishes and took down the CNY decs and we headed to HK. Mei Mei was having the usual 'not wanting to do something and then changing her mind when she didn't get her own way', in this case going to the market at Plaza Mont Kiara.
So, 3 of us walked up the road. Did I say it was hot, and sunny. I wore my hat. Bought books at the 2nd hand bookstall, me for Bali and Olivia some of the Wimpy Kid ones she hasn't read. Amelia didn't want a book. Sat and drank our cold drinks beside the pond, in the shade and watched the guy cook pork sausages. They looked like British ones (extra). The signs were in Chinese (natch) so not sure exactly what was being said.
Back at HK Olivia went to read her books and Amelia to, sit on the bed. I went to the pool for over 3 hours. It was deserted, the sun was out and I did a bit of swimming and a lot of just resting. I needed it after 2 very broken nights of sleep.
The sun disappeared, low and behind clouds around 4 so back upstairs, then downstairs to get my sunnies that I'd left on the sunbed, then downstairs again to collect a vacuum cleaner from Eryi, who'd borrowed it then finally downstairs to leave. I'd swithered about eating at Souled Out tonight but remembered I had wine to finish so went to Jaya for steak (as you do). There was a pop up Valentine's stall selling roses and at least one cuddly toy. I have no need of such fripperies.
Home had a frustrating time looking for my flight SD card. Then remmebred it was in my handbag. Must have taken it to PD. However, it's not working properly but then discovered the saved file on my PC is. That's 30 mins I'll never get back.
Had the steak, which as Amelia would say, was yummy (Oz, grass fed) and drank the wine. Set up the laptop with the HDMI extension cable (who that I'd realised this 2 months ago) and started to watch 'Quiz Lady' with Sandra Oh and Awkwafina, partly because she was in 'Rich Crazy Asians and all the books I bought earlier are the same series. However, when it started ti buffer (not enough bandwidth!) I lay down on the couch, and woke up don't know how much later completely disorientated but luckily remembering I had a meeting with H in 30 minutes. After that it was straight to bed for me. So tired.
With CNY being over it's probably the first time since early December there haven't been decorations up but it won't last. Ramadan starts in 2 weeks (which affects plans to meet up for dinner with #2 son and S, she'll be fasting) and the Hari Raya (Eid) decorations and 'must have' purchases will be up and on sale shortly. A reminder that Malaysia is awash with public holidays and religious festivals.
