The Pensioner

Rock on!

While the SK was loosed off round the town, I took myself off to meet AJ at the Cameo and take in Becoming Led Zeppelin. Oh my word, I just loved it. For a few years in the mid-seventies I was quite daft for them. When Rock Gods walked the earth.
The beginning section was particularly wonderful - the warm balm of 60s nostalgia, and through it all, a rare audio interview with the sadly departed genius that was Bonzo Bonham, threading it together. And my God, John Paul Jones wasn’t half a good musician. Of course, the Zeppelin of hell raising, bad behaviour and Aleister Crowley was entirely absent - this was an authorised biography after all, and the spirit of Peter Grant loomed large. But don’t take my word, no. Roger Ebert* knows, isn’t that right?
Well, after that, there was only one thing for it. Cloisters!

*The SK often quotes RE as gospel
