Back at the beach

Having gone to bed early, before 10, I woke before midnight and after a bit of tossing and turning (complicated as #2 granddaughter was sprawled over the bed) I got up and used my laptop till the battery died and I felt sleepy.

Miraculously we were up, breakfasted, packed and out just after 9. We went back to Pantai Tanjung Biru (Blue Lagoon) but it was much busier today and we parked over at Pantai Cermin.  The local authorities have just implemented a ban of tents and umbrellas etc on beaches in the Port Dickson area to stop overcrowding and hassling by the people renting the tents and shelters.  yesterday the beach was very quiet and there were few shelters or other renting options. There is quite a list of banned items and the fine is about £200.  Today, the opposite as it is Thaipusam a public holiday, a religious festival celebrated by S Indians, so maybe the traders reckoned there would be no enforcement.  

The tide was going out so there was really no swimming today and it was hot.  Both #1 son and WH got sunburn yesterday so were being ultra careful.  WH went kayaking with Amelia and then I took Olivia out.  It was hard as the tide was going out and we had to avoid the sand bars. We didn't make it quite back to shore.

We left about 1 and there was a debate about having a shower.  Eventually we all changed (trying to be modest) in the Pantai Cermin car park.  An extra is a view of the Lexis Hibiscus, the villas built over the sea i  the shape of a hibiscus.  Better seen from a landing plane. 

Then along the 15 kms to PD Waterfront for lunch at the fish restaurant we ate in when I was last here a couple of years ago. After that there was coffee, pictures (extra) and some purchases at a clothes stall and then a quick ride back to Mont Kiara.

I unpacked, put on washing, had a bath, went to Jaya for groceries and ate.  I'll end the evening with some more BBC.  Might even plug laptop into TV now I realise I have an HDMI cable, attached to the box. Doh!

It was a great 4 days - feel like I've been on holiday.
